Jair Bolsonaro supporters storm Brazilian Congress
Supporters of Jair Bolsonaro, who used to be Brazil’s dictator, broke into the presidential palace and the highest court in the country.
Bolsonaro has been a controversial figure since he took office in 2019. He is known for being racist, sexist, homophobic, and violent. His supporters say the election of the current president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, was fraudulent and refuse to accept that Bolsonaro lost the election last year.
The crowd broke into the building, smashing windows and climbing on seats and benches.The protesters, who held up placards saying “Lulla is a thief “, were dispersed by police using tear gas.
