Ahmad Ganga, a personal assistant at the Nigerian Federal House of Representatives and a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, took to Twitter to express his condemnation of the video.
“First of all, I’ve unfollowed you, reported you, and deleted all your songs from my phone,” Ganga wrote. “While I condemn your hateful incitement against Islam and Muslims, I encourage my fellow Muslims to do the same to set standards to prevent future occurrences. Moreover, let’s meet in court!”
As the controversy surrounding the video grows, many members of the Muslim community are calling on Davido to take down the video and issue an apology for its insensitive portrayal of their religious practices. They argue that using elements of Islamic tradition in such a manner is offensive and crosses the line of cultural appropriation.
