Nigeria: Man detained in Zamfara for possessing human parts
Officers from the Zamfara State Police Command have taken a man by the name of Jabiru Ibrahim into jail after discovering a human hand and other charms in his possession. They are currently investigating him for culpable homicide as a result of their discovery.
Mohammed Shehu, the command’s spokesperson, further claimed that Ibrahim, a resident of Dauran in the Zarmi Local Government Area (LGA), is a part of the criminal organization that is known as Yansakai.
Police Command Headquarters, Gusau is where the suspect was arrested after he was detained by Joint Police and Military Operatives on Anti-Banditry Operation along the Dauran–Zurmi axis, according to SP Mohammed.
He said, “Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect was among the members of the outlawed group (YANSAKAI) who have been terrorising members of Dauran Community through Jungle Justice, leading to reprisal attacks by bandits and terrorists against the innocent members of the public.
“In the course of interrogation, the suspect has confessed that himself and three other members of his gang now at large carried out the gruesome killing of one Abdullah, a Fulani by tribe, and later the suspect removed the right hand of the deceased”.
SP Mohammed said the investigation is ongoing and swore that officers won’t stop working until the other criminals are arrested and prosecuted.
