On Sunday, July 10th, a drinking competition was held in a tavern outside Louis Trichardt in Mashamba village. The winner received R200 for finishing the full bottle of alcohol.
The man passed out shortly after finishing the entire bottle, and he was brought to a neighboring hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after being there. According to a source, the South African police are actively investigating the incident, and an inquest docket
