At least 22 people were on board a passenger plane that went missing in Nepal on Sunday, according to the airline.

Pokhara’s Twin Otter plane took off at 9:55 a.m. and soon lost communication with air traffic controllers.

According to Phanindra Mani Pokharel, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Home Affairs, two helicopters have been dispatched for the purpose of conducting a search operation.

It takes around 20 minutes by plane to get to Jomsom from Pokhara, which is located west of Kathmandu. Jomsom is a popular trekking location in the Himalayas.
