Ethiopian Airlines and Srilankan Airlines sign codeshare agreement

SriLankan Airlines and Ethiopian Airlines have signed a codeshare agreement to allow their passengers to travel between the two airlines’ destinations. The agreement will be implemented from July 4, 2022.

Under the terms of the agreement, SriLankan and Ethiopia will be able to sell tickets and operate flights on each other’s routes. Passengers can use their Sri Lankan or Ethiopian tickets on the other airline’s flights.

Sri Lankan and Ethiopian Airlines have been working closely with the Civil Aviation Authority of Ethiopia and the Department of Civil Aviation of Sri Lanka to implement the codeshare agreement.

This is the first time SriLankan Airlines and Ethiopian Airlines have signed a codeshare agreement. The airlines are expected to increase the number of passengers traveling on their flights.

Under the agreement, Ethiopian Airlines will carry SriLankan Airlines passengers from:

Addis Ababa – Cape Town
Addis Ababa – Dubai
Addis Ababa – Johannesburg
Addis Ababa – Sao Paulo Guarulhos

SriLankan Airlines will carry Ethiopian Airlines passengers from:

Colombo – Dubai
Colombo – Jakarta
Colombo – Melbourne

SriLankan Airlines and Ethiopian Airlines are both members of Star Alliance, which is one of the world’s largest airline alliances.
