Deborah Fraser,gospel singer, has died
Deborah Fraser, a well known South African gospel singer, died on Sunday 15 May 2022. Deborah Fraser’s family released a statement confirming her death.
“It is with deep sadness to inform you of the passing of our beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend, and Gospel musician, Deborah Fraser following a short illness. She passed on today (Sunday) after midday, in the presence of her family and friends.”
“As Deborah Fraser’s family we would like to be given space to process and deal with this very tragic situation. The public will be further informed of any developments.”
After getting unwell on her way to a show in Klerksdorp in the North West, the Ngonile singer was hospitalized from February to March last year and was recently restricted to a wheelchair due to health concerns. She requested for prayers after becoming ill on her way to the gig.
She was diagnosed with diabetes a few years ago and has had a few health scares since then. She previously told Drum that she had sold some of her city residences and purchased a farm in Johannesburg’s south to live a healthier lifestyle.
