Another mass shooting hits South Africa
Another mass shooting has hit South Africa, leaving at least four dead and many more wounded in Lenasia, a suburb in the south of Soweto.
It’s been a few days since the mass shooting in Soweto, which killed sixteen (16) people. In Pietermaritzburg, Kwazulu Natal, four (4) people were shot and killed, and two (2) others in East Rand. One (1) person was murdered by three armed men on July 12, 2022, in Mamelodi, Pretoria.
On Thursday, July 14, 2022, a series of shootings took place in the township of Alexandra, resulting in the deaths of eight (8) people.
On the same day, seven (7) people, including six (6) women and one (1) man, were mercilessly put to death on a farm in the Kestell District of the Free State province. According to the South African police, two (2) people have been arrested in connection with the killings.
A total of thirty-eight (38) people were killed in one month.
The shooting in the Soweto tavern on Monday, July 11, was the worst in a series of seven (7) mass shootings in the country in the month. A total of thirty-eight (38) people were killed in one month.
There is no doubt that South Africa has become a much more dangerous place in recent months. The number of deaths caused by mass shootings, violent crimes, xenophobic attacks, and natural disasters has risen dramatically over the past months.
Some individuals are of the opinion that political motivations were behind the most recent killings that took place in South Africa.
