AC Milan wins Serie A after 11 years
This is AC Milan’s first Serie A championship in 11 years.
AC Milan won the 2021-22 Serie A title with a 3-0 win over Sassulo. Their rivals, Inter, came in second after a dramatic last-day battle. Sunday, the team coached by Stafano Pioli easily won their first Scudetto title in 11 years, making Inter’s 3-0 home win over Sampdoria pointless.
Olivier Giroud scored twice during the game, and Franck Kessie scored just before halftime to put the game out of reach for Sassulo.
This is AC Milan’s first league title in 11 years, since the club has struggled financially and hasn’t had any big-name players or managers to work with.
