2-year-old dies in Wells, Maine shooting

Wells, Maine shooting kills 2-year-old, charges 19-year-old with murder

A shooting in a Wells, Maine, home late Saturday afternoon killed a 2-year-old girl. Andrew Huber Young, 19, was caught and charged with murder by Maine State Police on Sunday. He is being accused of shooting three people at 97 Credi ford Road at about 4:20 p.m. on Saturday.

The name of the young child who died is Octavia Huber Young of Wells. In the next few days, an autopsy will be done.


Also, two men were shot and hurt. Local hospitals took care of their injuries, which were not life-threatening. Sunday, police said they won’t name the two men or talk about how the victims know the suspect.Police say that Huber Young is being held without bail at the York County Jail.


The shooting is still being looked into by the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit, with help from the Wells Police Department.
