Ten family members shot and killed in Pietermaritzburg
A tragic shooting incident in Pietermaritzburg has left a family of ten dead. Unknown gunmen stormed their homestead and ambushed them, leaving seven women and three men fatally wounded.
Details of the incident
- The shooting occurred on Thursday evening at Unit 14, Imbali, Edendale, in Plessislaer, Pietermaritzburg.
- Provincial spokesperson Brigadier Jay Naicker confirmed that the crime scene was still active and the motive for the killing was not known.
Police response and investigation
- Police have issued a statement, saying that the National Police Minister Bheki Cele is expected to visit the crime scene on Friday morning.
- Naicker expressed concern about the culture of indiscriminate killings and said that it needs to be addressed with the help of other stakeholders.
